Scarborough Little League Governing Documents
Notice: 11/18/2025Scarborough Little League will be organizing a vote to update the SLL Constitution (last approved in 2016) to clarify sections
Changes to the Constitution will include:
- Clarification of definition of Regular Members to match current registration systems used by Little League
- Require the Player Agent to also participate in any serious issues involving a Player (aligns with our current practice)
- Clarifying that SLL does not require dues from its Regular Members
- Clarifying if no Quorum is present in an Annual Membership meeting, no official business can be conducted. Business will then transition to be conducted in a regular Board of Directors meeting following the Annual Meeting.
- Clarifying that votes may be conducted via email (aligns with contemporary practices).
- Clarifying that a board meeting calendar may be published in advance of the 7 day notification period.
- Increase the quorum for Board of Directors meetings from 1/3 to 1/2 of board for the conduct of business.
- Updating the primary point of contact for Little League International from Coaching Coordinator to the President, to align with currnet practice and Little League electronic systems.
- Updates the name of "League Information Officer" to "Registration Director" to better reflect position duties.
- Clarifies the process how updates to the Constitution are completed with notification to Members at least 10 days in advance of the vote and that updates may be made a Members Meeting that is not the Annual Membership Meeting.
