Yes, to Majors.
Scarborough Little League will allow 6th grade players who are League Age 13 to play a final Majors Little League season with their classmates and friends.
Scarborough Middle School does not have a 6th grade Middle School team and no spring organized community baseball is available to these players otherwise until Juniors. Juniors baseball begins at the end of the school year and extends into the summer.
Therefore, in the interest of reinforcing the community aspect of Little League and in supporting the mission of developing young baseball players, Scarborough Little League will allow this limited exception (typically available only to 5 players or fewer a season).
Little League aged 13 players ARE NOT eligible for Tournament (All-Star) consideration. |

Play Up Requirements
- Evaluations are required for all players seeking to “play up” into a higher division.
- Maximum roster sizes and availability influence availability of spots for players to play up.
- The Player Agent may identify and manage a pool of eligible players available to “call up” to the next division when needed to fill out rosters during games.
- For example, if a Majors coach has 8 confirmed Majors players at a scheduled game, they may contact the Player Agent to call up 2 AAA players in order to field a competitive team and not forfeit the scheduled game.
Play Down Requirements
- Players may not be played down a division, away from their classmates and peers, unless there are significant safety concerns identified if the player were to be placed in the default Division. These concerns are typically identified during pre-season evaluations but may arise during evaluation during practice/games by coaches after the season begins.
- All “Play Down” decisions MUST be agreed to between the parent(s), Player Agent, VP of Baseball, and League President.
- Parents may request to have their child “play down” (for Ages 9 through 11 only and in very limited cases for Age 12) with agreement of the Player Agent, VP of Baseball, and League President.
- All final decisions for exceptions to this policy are made by the Baseball Player Agent, with agreement from the VP of Baseball and League President when needed.
